Technical Software Team Leader

Salary: £136,500 - 147,000 per year

Requirements:

• We need hands-on team leading experience, with a blend of engineering and leadership to deliver projects.
• We need strong experience developing embedded software in C and C++.
• We need knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems.
• We need experience with Rhapsody UML or other model-driven development tools.
• We need experience testing software to requirements and ICDs on both host and target hardware.
• We need experience with IBM Engineering Work Management / Rational Tool Concert.
• We need a proven can-do, flexible approach and the ability to solve technical problems that may extend beyond software.
• We need strong analytical and design ability, including review, critical analysis, and generation of design documentation.
• We need proven ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders, including SMEs, Systems Engineering, and Test and Validation.

Responsibilities:

• We will lead and guide a team of software developers, fostering a collaborative and productive working environment.
• We will collaborate with the Software Project Leader and stakeholders to define project requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
• We will coordinate work across team members, assign tasks, and ensure deadlines are met.
• We will identify and communicate technical risks and technical debt to the Software Project Leader.
• We will facilitate effective communication across the team, stakeholders, and cross-functional groups.
• We will encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team.
• We will ensure the team follows software development best practices, quality assurance processes, and coding standards.
• We will identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization.
• We will work with stakeholders to define and implement quality improvement initiatives.
• We will capture and communicate key development metrics to the Software Project Leader and suggest improvements based on the data collected.
