Lead Software Engineer Java

Salary: £85,000 - 85,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for a hands-on Senior Engineer or Technical Lead with strong commercial Java development experience.
• We need someone with experience designing and building solutions in AWS.
• We require full-stack development experience using JavaScript, React and TypeScript.
• We are looking for previous experience leading engineers or providing technical direction.
• We need an understanding of software architecture and technical design.
• We expect experience working throughout the full software development lifecycle.
• We are looking for strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• We need the ability to understand customer challenges and translate them into practical technical solutions.
• Consultancy experience would be helpful, but it is not essential.
• The successful candidate must be able to obtain high-level UK security clearance.
• To be eligible, you must be a British citizen and have lived permanently in the UK for the last five years.

Responsibilities:

• We will ask you to lead and support a team of software engineers.
• We will expect you to design, develop and test bespoke software solutions.
• We need you to provide technical direction and communicate clearly with clients.
• You will produce solution architectures and technical designs.
• You will build full-stack applications using Java, JavaScript, React and TypeScript.
• You will design and deploy cloud-based solutions, primarily using AWS.
• You will create continuous integration pipelines using tools such as GitLab.
• You will work across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and architecture through to delivery, support and maintenance.
• You will deploy software into public and private cloud environments.
• You will promote high standards of software quality, security and engineering practice.
