2nd Line IT Support & Field Engineer

Salary: £30,000 - 34,000 per year

Requirements:

• 2nd-line support, infrastructure, or MSP engineering experience
• Strong Windows troubleshooting skills and hands-on Microsoft 365 administration experience
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, TCP/IP, DNS/DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, and firewalls
• Experience installing and terminating Cat5e/Cat6 cabling and network equipment
• Confidence attending customer sites independently with strong customer-facing skills
• Full UK driving licence
• Bonus experience with MSP environments, UniFi, Fortinet, SonicWall, DrayTek, Windows Server, Intune, VoIP, fibre/structured cabling, rack installation, Cyber Essentials, RMM/PSA platforms, or relevant certifications

Responsibilities:

• Resolve escalated 2nd-line tickets across hardware, software, networking, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, VLANs, and Wi-Fi
• Attend customer sites for reactive fixes, installations, and infrastructure projects
• Install and replace PCs, printers, access points, switches, firewalls, and routers
• Install and terminate Cat5e/Cat6 cabling, patch panels, and cabinets
• Maintain clear documentation, network diagrams, and handover notes
• Cover the field rota during busy periods, holidays, and sickness
