Supplier Quality Engineer

The Opportunity

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will own supplier quality for a portfolio of critical mechanical, electrical and mechatronic suppliers, from supplier qualification through production and continuous improvement.

The role exists to strengthen our supplier quality processes as ANYbotics scales production and introduces new products. You will work closely with Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality, and will spend time directly with suppliers to solve quality issues at the source.

This is a hands-on role: you will not only define processes and requirements, but also audit suppliers, drive corrective actions and make sure improvements are implemented and sustained.

Your Impact

• Define supplier qualification criteria and establish robust processes for assessing and approving new suppliers.

• Prepare and maintain supplier audit and assessment frameworks, including questionnaires and checklists.

• Conduct on-site assessments of critical suppliers and drive audit findings through to closure.

• Monitor supplier performance, identify recurring quality issues and initiate improvement or development actions where needed.

• Identify suppliers, manufacturers and service providers requiring Quality Assurance Agreements (QAAs).

• Develop and maintain QAA templates aligned with ISO 9001 and ISO 80079-34 requirements.

• Review and negotiate QAA terms with suppliers, covering responsibilities, control points, traceability, non-conformities and other quality requirements.

• Coordinate internal Quality, Legal and Purchasing approvals for QAAs and monitor ongoing supplier compliance.

• Define and maintain the supplier NCR process, from detection and reporting through escalation, follow-up and closure.

• Establish effective NCR templates and tracking tools, and communicate non-conformities clearly with suppliers.

• Analyse NCR trends and recurring issues to identify systemic quality problems and drive corrective actions.

• Initiate supplier development, improvement plans or requalification where supplier performance falls below expectations.

• 5 years  experience in supplier quality management with complex mechatronic product

• Hands-on experience conducting supplier audits and driving corrective actions through to verified closure.

• Strong understanding of root-cause analysis, 8D  and structured problem solving.

• Experience defining and negotiating supplier quality requirements, ideally including Quality Assurance Agreements.

• Ability to work effectively across Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality, while challenging suppliers when quality or delivery requirements are not met.

• Willingness to travel to suppliers and spend time on-site when required.

Experience with ISO 9001 and/or ISO 80079-34, particularly in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Experience building or improving supplier quality processes in a scaling manufacturing organization.

Familiarity with statistical quality tools such as SPC, Cpk/Ppk and Pareto analysis.
