Job Description

Your Role
As a Senior Accountant General Ledger (m/f/x), you are the backbone of our finance team, driving the scalability of our general ledger accounting. Operating within our modern SAP S/4HANA environment, you take ownership of complex closing processes, ensure flawless data quality across sub-systems, and design intercompany workflows. Leveraging your accounting expertise, you transform traditional bookkeeping into highly automated, future-proof financial processes that lay the foundation for FINN's global growth

Your Mission
  • Master the General Ledger: Independently lead and reconcile general ledgers for designated entities, ensuring complete and legally compliant accounting under German GAAP (HGB).

  • Drive financial closings: Proactively advance the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, acting as an expert contact for external audits and tax reviews.

  • Optimize data & automation: Ensure data integrity between operational sub-systems and the general ledger, identifying and executing automation opportunities through targeted controls.

  • Manage complex structures: Oversee complex financial instruments and successfully drive special projects, such as accounting for Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) structures or receivables sales.

  • Streamline intercompany workflows: Take ownership of seamless reconciliation and settlement between entities, establishing efficient, group-wide financial processes.

  • Ensure compliance & guidelines: Guarantee strict adherence to statutory regulations as well as internal policies, serving as a reliable sparring partner for the team.

  • Your Profile
    Must have:
  • Deep Accounting Expertise: Extensive, practical professional experience in General Ledger accounting, ideally gained in a dynamic financial services, fintech, or fast-paced scale-up environment.

  • Strong HGB & Special Structure Knowledge: Solid domain expertise in accounting under German GAAP (HGB) along with a proven track record handling complex financial instruments (e.g., ABS structures or receivables sales), paired with a degree in business/finance or a qualification as a Certified Senior Accountant / Financial Accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter IHK).

  • System & ERP Affinity: In-depth experience applying and optimizing modern ERP systems (preferably SAP S/4HANA), coupled with a highly analytical, structured, and numbers-driven working style.

  • Solution-Oriented Communication Skills: Strong team spirit and the ability to articulate complex financial matters with precision - German (min. B2) alongside strong, professional English proficiency.

  • Nice to have:
  • IFRS Knowledge: Initial practical exposure to or solid knowledge of international financial reporting under IFRS.

  • Process Automation: Experience collaborating closely with Product or Tech teams to automate interfaces and financial sub-systems.

  • WHY FINN

  • Fuel your Growth (1.500€ Development Budget): Standing still is not an option. With an annual development budget of 1.500€ for further training and seminars, you decide how you want to grow personally and professionally.
  • Family First (Childcare Subsidy & Flexibility): We support you and your family. Benefit from a monthly childcare subsidy, exclusive access to daycare spots in Munich, and maximum flexibility to balance work and family life stress-free.
  • Company Pension Scheme (bAV): We think about your future. FINN subsidizes your company pension plan with a strong employer contribution of 66%.
