Trainee Web Designer

Salary: £30,000 - 34,000 per year

Requirements:

• A genuine passion for web design and a strong desire to learn and develop technically.
• A basic portfolio or examples of your work, including personal projects, university work, or concepts.
• Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop, or Illustrator.
• A foundational understanding of what makes a good user experience (UX) and clean user interface (UI).
• Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS is highly advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the design team in creating wireframes, mockups, and responsive web layouts.
• Update and maintain existing client websites using content management systems such as WordPress, Shopify, or Webflow.
• Help prepare and format image assets, graphics, and icons for web use.
• Learn and apply basic front-end coding in HTML and CSS to bring designs to life.
• Conduct cross-browser and quality assurance testing to ensure websites look and function perfectly across all devices.
• Shadow senior team members during client briefings and design reviews.
