Technical Product Manager - Platform

Salary: £50,000 - 90,000 per year

Requirements:

• Were looking for someone with deep technical expertise and strong product management experience, including experience leading a development team supporting one or more platform services.
• You can work as part of a team using both agentic and human-led software development approaches, curate product context, and set acceptance criteria at engineering depth.
• You have outcome-focused product management experience with public cloud and SaaS solutions.
• You have strong technical experience, ideally with tools or technologies commonly used as services by engineering teams.
• You have experience solving multiple, complex problems with teams.
• You can explain complex topics in clear, non-technical language.
• You have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• You can manage, align, and influence stakeholders at different levels of seniority.
• You are data- and insight-driven and can connect delivery to measurable business impact.
• Desirable, but not essential: knowledge of Azure Cloud services; experience using AI to accelerate product and delivery processes; previous experience managing platform services; general knowledge of the insurance industry.
• Wed welcome a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a relevant discipline.

Responsibilities:

• Well rely on you to own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for one or more Platform services.
• Youll socialize the vision and strategy across the business and manage stakeholder expectations about scope.
• Youll define and prioritize business outcomes and problems to solve, including what is out of scope.
• Youll ensure solutions are viable for the business and meet end-user needs.
• Youll define and track product metrics, return on investment, and business cases for Platform services.
• Youll elicit and capture user and business requirements across our technology teams.
• Youll combine qualitative and quantitative insights to support prioritization and product decisions.
• Youll use a test-and-learn approach to validate assumptions early and build confidence in the value delivered to our business and clients.
• Youll support solution design, technical decisions, and release management for Platform services.
• Youll be accountable for adoption and go-to-market plans for Platform services.
• Youll create clear and effective documentation.
• Youll prioritize delivery trade-offs, technical debt, and cost and efficiency decisions.
• Youll communicate product and delivery updates regularly and promote Platform to other teams across our business.
• Youll manage the teams backlog, sprint goals, and problem breakdown.
• Youll mentor and coach product management within the team and promote technical excellence.
