Software Architect

Salary: £33,000 - 73,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require experience designing or implementing distributed system architectures.
• We require experience as a technical architect or technical lead.
• We require excellent problem solving and decision making skills.
• We require experience working within an agile methodology.
• We consider architecture-related qualifications such as TOGAF desirable.
• We consider experience and knowledge of software engineering technologies such as Java or C# desirable.
• We consider experience with multiple database technologies, including relational databases and document databases desirable.
• We consider cloud architecture experience or qualifications desirable.

Responsibilities:

• We partner with business and technology stakeholders to run discovery, clarify ambiguous requirements, and translate them into clear functional and non-functional requirements.
• We enable delivery and governance, collaborating with engineers to produce a detailed roadmap.
• We define observability requirements, including metrics, logs, and traces.
• We participate in design reviews and architecture review boards.
• We shape and document solution architectures.
• We produce target-state and integration designs aligned to industry best practice.
• We design proofs of concept to test solutions for future services.
• We work with internal groups, third parties, and external suppliers.
