Salary: £60,000 - 110,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We have experience in program or project management.
  • We have 10+ years in telecoms design, including cabling infrastructure design and deployment program management.
  • We hold a BICSI RCDD or equivalent qualification.
  • We have deep technical knowledge of telecoms infrastructure design, including structured cabling, fibre, copper, and wireless.
  • We have a proven background in IT infrastructure design and consulting, not just telecoms project management.
  • We are proficient in Autodesk design tools such as AutoCAD and Revit.
  • We understand relevant standards such as BICSI, TIA/EIA, and ISO/IEC.
  • We are able to think strategically and execute methodically.
  • We demonstrate strong judgment, negotiation, analytical, and quantitative skills.
  • We can clearly communicate data insights and use hard data and metrics to support assumptions and business cases.
  • We are comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • We are willing to travel as needed, with a minimum of 25% travel expected.
Responsibilities:
  • We project manage telecoms design projects, coordinating design requirements with our internal design team and managing key stakeholders, including customers.
  • We provide telecoms design expertise and technical input across programs, reviewing designs and resolving technical queries.
  • We participate in design coordination meetings with other trades for clash detection and resolution.
  • We lead or contribute to design reviews, supporting quality gates and acceptance criteria across building types, regions, and vendor teams.
  • We use Autodesk Revit to support elements of the design workflow.
  • We support our QA/QC processes, including AI-driven quality checks and standardised review checklists.
  • We contribute to our documentation library, including SOPs, QC checklists, and playbooks.
  • We drive automation and tooling adoption.
  • We support and mentor designers and BIM technicians with telecoms design expertise.
  • We work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical locations.
  • We act as a technical interface to stakeholders.
  • We assist the project team with information exchange processes between internal and external customers.
  • We provide coordination support for information requests during launch phases.
  • We record and report key metrics to management.
  • We lead workshops to drive alignment to our goals and deliver results.
  • We act as a technical leader and key point of contact for telecoms design technical escalations across the wider business.

We are the OTS Design Execution (ODX) team within Operations Technology Solutions, a highly creative and efficient internal telecoms design team focused on telecoms design optimisation, design quality assurance, and vendor management. Our team includes program managers, BIM technicians, wireless design engineers, and technical specialists, and we support new builds, retrofits, expansions, and initiatives across Amazon logistics operations buildings. We work globally with internal Amazon teams and external design vendors to optimise designs, set standards, and drive innovation, while actively investing in AI-driven automation and tooling to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort. We also partner closely on BIM integration and design templatisation, and we offer a fast-paced environment where no two days look the same.
