Senior Software Engineer

Salary: £80,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong professional experience with backend development in Python
• Experience building modern frontend applications, with Svelte and/or jQuery preferred
• Solid understanding of APIs, distributed systems, integrations, and scalable application design
• Experience working across complex, multi-surface product ecosystems
• Proven experience mentoring or leading other engineers; team lead experience is essential
• Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure is a strong plus
• Experience with browser or email extensions is a strong plus
• Experience with CRM integrations is a strong plus
• Experience with OpenAI APIs or LLM-powered applications is a strong plus
• Experience with observability and operational tooling is a strong plus

Responsibilities:

• Own the delivery of complex features and systems end-to-end
• Break ambiguous product problems into scalable technical solutions
• Guide implementation decisions and technical trade-offs across the team
• Perform technical reviews that improve code quality and engineer capability
• Influence architecture and design, anticipating scaling and operational risk early
• Mentor and coach engineers on implementation, debugging, and design patterns
• Improve deployment reliability, monitoring, and observability
• Lead or support production incident response and post-mortems
• Partner closely with Product and QA, communicating risks and trade-offs clearly
