Senior Scala Developer

Salary: £42,000 - 82,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong experience with Scala and functional programming.
• Skilled in designing and consuming REST APIs and JSON validation and serialisation, including Play JSON and Circe.
• Proficient with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests using ScalaTest, Specs2, and Mockito, with TDD or BDD.
• Familiar with SBT for build automation and Git branching workflows.
• Good understanding of HTTP, web security best practices, and performance.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and containerisation.
• Must be eligible for SC Clearance, with full right to work in the UK and no absence from the UK longer than 28 consecutive days in the last 5 years.

We are seeking multiple Senior Scala Developers to join a long-standing Public Sector customer, working on some of the biggest Government projects in the country. This is a full-time, permanent role with a salary of £60,000-£90,000 plus benefits. You can be based anywhere in the UK, provided you are comfortable attending a client office at least once a month, with typical sites including London, Bristol, Manchester, Leeds, South Wales, and Birmingham.
