Senior Platform Engineer (Cloud Media Platforms)

Requirements:

• Strong experience in platform, cloud, or backend software engineering, including cloud-based media platform components such as storage, ingest, and workflow services.
• Proficiency in scripting with Python, Go, or Node.js for automation and API development.
• An architecture mindset, with the ability to design and code solutions that can scale to numerous digital media channels, platforms, and brands.
• Hands-on expertise with AWS (preferred) or GCP and Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform.
• Proven experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions.
• Experience with digital asset management, cloud storage, or media ingestion platforms.
• Knowledge of Agile delivery practices and test-driven development (TDD).
• Prior experience in the media broadcasting industry, specifically with digital asset management, Cloud NAS, and video ingest or similar workflows.
• AWS or GCP professional-level certifications are desirable.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the architecture and development of cloud-based media platform components, including storage, video ingest, and workflow services.
• Deploy and manage scalable cloud infrastructure aligned with enterprise technology standards.
• Design automation, scripting, and API integrations to streamline media processing and operational workflows.
• Mentor engineering team members, promoting high-quality software development and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and efficient releases.
• Collaborate with external technology partners to resolve integration and architectural challenges.
• Provide technical design and development or implementation of systems that industrialise media workflows.
• Act as the primary technical authority for Cloud NAS integration, media ingest pipelines, and automated metadata scripting.

We are recruiting for a Senior Platform Engineer (Cloud Media Platforms) to join us on an initial 6+ month contract, starting as soon as possible within 2-4 weeks notice. The role is London-based and typically hybrid, with 2/3 days working from home and West London on-site. This is an outside IR35 opportunity, and applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be based near London.
