Senior Java Software Engineer

Salary: £55,000 - 90,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong full-stack experience in software design and implementation, including using programming languages to solve complex problems
• Ability to analyse, capture and validate complex requirements against business and systems requirements
• Experience leading the implementation of programming best practices, particularly in scalability, automation, virtualisation, optimisation, availability and performance
• Strong experience with microservices, observability and cloud technology, specifically AWS
• Hands-on experience with Spring, Spring Boot and Docker
• Collaboration skills and the ability to work with business teams to develop pragmatic solutions
• Experience with information security policies and practices in the financial sector
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts simply

Responsibilities:

• Design, produce, test and implement working software across the system lifecycle
• Develop knowledge of the platform across business, applications, data and infrastructure
• Liaise with principal engineers, domain architects and other stakeholders to understand the platform and how it supports business objectives
• Apply Agile methods to develop software from the backlog
• Produce resilient, long-lived software and adapt it to future needs
• Deliver intentional architecture and develop emergent designs through ideas, experimentation and prototyping
• Design and develop software with a focus on automating build, test and deployment activities
• Apply knowledge of microservices, Kubernetes and cloud technologies

This is a full-time role with 35 hours per week, based in Manchester, with hybrid working that includes at least one day each week in our Manchester office and some work from home.
