Senior GCP Engineer

Salary: £95,000 - 95,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong GCP cloud engineering background with a DevOps mindset.
• Terraform expertise, including modules, state, workspaces, and enterprise patterns.
• Solid Python scripting skills for tooling and automation.
• Experience with GKE, service mesh, containerisation, and cluster management.
• Experience implementing org-level governance, security, and policy-as-code.
• GCP and Terraform certifications are a big plus.
• SME-level GCP knowledge or consulting experience is nice to have.
• Experience influencing architecture, design, and DevOps strategy is nice to have.
• Familiarity with IDE-style engineering platforms, such as Backstage, is nice to have.

Responsibilities:

• Engineer GCP infrastructure products using Terraform and Terraform Cloud.
• Design reusable IaC modules, refactor legacy configurations, and improve state management.
• Build automation, tooling, and workflows in Python.
• Develop secure, scalable GCP landing zones with org policies, policy-as-code, guardrails, and zero-trust principles.
• Work deeply with GKE, containers, Istio, cluster operations, and cloud-native networking.
• Integrate CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Jenkins, and Harness to automate builds and deployments.
• Drive cloud adoption and best practice across feature teams.
• Shape standards, architecture, and tooling across a large GCP estate.
