Senior Frontend Software Engineer - React/TypeScript

Requirements:

• Strong React expertise with hands-on experience in JavaScript/TypeScript
• Proven experience building accessible, testable, scalable user interfaces
• Strong test-first mindset (TDD) and confidence writing automated tests
• Experience with JestJS and modern frontend testing practices
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and tooling such as axe-core
• Experience operating at a senior level, including technical ownership of solutions
• Experience coaching and mentoring other engineers
• Experience contributing to architectural and technical direction
• Desirable: backend development with Java / Quarkus
• Desirable: experience working with REST APIs and PostgreSQL
• Desirable: DevOps exposure across CI/CD pipelines, containers, and Kubernetes

Responsibilities:

• Work within cross-functional feature teams delivering front-end led capabilities for the Data Marketplace
• Build accessible, high-quality, and well-tested user interfaces on a cloud-native platform running on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Take strong technical ownership of frontend delivery
• Contribute to technical direction
• Support other engineers within the team

We are hiring for a Senior Frontend Software Engineer role based in Bristol, UK, with a hybrid work model requiring onsite presence two days a week. This is a contract position inside IR35 with an initial duration of 6 months and the possibility of extension.
