Senior Digital Banking Solutions Architect

Salary: £95,000 - 130,000 per year

Requirements:

• Proven digital and solution architecture experience working with modern digital solutions, cloud platforms, modern integration and architecture patterns including microservices.
• Working knowledge of platform, infrastructure, and data architecture, including cyber security and networking patterns.
• Demonstrated technology delivery experience across the full delivery lifecycle, gained through a leading bank, consulting firm, fintech, or a leading firm outside Financial Services.
• Experience defining architecture principles and solution designs that adhere to those principles, common architecture patterns, and practices.
• Strong understanding of emerging technology and trends in banking.
• Exceptional communication and client management skills.
• Experience leading teams of architects and/or technologists within complex digital transformation programmes.
• Experience delivering through waterfall and agile methodologies.
• Ability to analyse solution options and build consensus among technical and business stakeholders.
• Experience as a technology lead working closely with developers, testers, and other agile roles.
• Desirable: certification or knowledge of GCP, AWS, or Microsoft Azure.
• Desirable: experience with banking products, processes, and technology across corporate and transactional banking, retail banking, credit cards, payments, digital and non-digital banking channels, and banking regulation.
• Desirable: understanding of banking architecture, key systems, challenges, and emerging technologies.
• Desirable: software engineering background or hands-on technology development and delivery experience.
• Desirable: industry certifications such as BCS, SCRUM, SAFe, or PMP.
• Desirable: enterprise or solution architecture certification such as TOGAF, Zachman, or equivalent.

Responsibilities:

• Support clients in creating and assessing technology strategies and roadmaps.
• Support delivery programmes by creating modern solution architectures and technical designs.
• Work with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Development teams, and Programme Managers.
• Continuously learn, improve, and adapt to new client and programme needs.
• Perform a tech lead role across discovery, requirements gathering, solution design, build, end-to-end testing, process definition, change, and go-live.
• Provide technical design governance, solution quality assurance, and design reviews.
• Provide thought leadership and support continuous capability development within the practice.
• Coach and mentor junior team members.
• Build effective client relationships across IT, Operations, and Risk stakeholders.
• Build and maintain relationships with technology partners such as AWS and GCP.
• Contribute to business development through pre-sales, bid preparation, and client presentations.
• Lead the definition and implementation of accelerators and standards, and promote adherence to them.
• Support the growth of the digital banking practice and broader Industry Solutions division.
