Salary: £61,000 - 101,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We are looking for around 6 or more years of relevant experience.
  • We are looking for a degree in a quantitatively rigorous field such as computer science, data science, econometrics, mathematics, or physics.
  • We want someone with strong systems thinking who builds for scale.
  • We need strong production troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • We need experience in data modeling, including cross-functional data products, data contracts, and complex business rules.
  • We need advanced SQL skills, including window functions, query optimization, and MERGE/UPSERT operations.
  • We need strong Python and PySpark skills, including reusable, parameterized functions and working with JSON, CSV, and Parquet.
  • We need deep experience with Databricks, including Declarative Pipelines, DABS, Delta Lake, Spark optimization, and job orchestration.
  • We want familiarity with the Azure ecosystem and a working understanding of Unity Catalog.
  • We value strong written communication for async updates and clear documentation.
  • Nice to have: advanced Spark optimization, geospatial data processing, recursive CTEs, infrastructure familiarity with Azure tools, strong Git workflows, and real estate domain experience.
Responsibilities:
  • We will have you drive the shift from a code-writing team to an AI orchestration team by building agentic workflows for data engineering tasks and CI/CD.
  • We will have you design semantic models for downstream consumption and implement an AI Gateway for governance.
  • You will steward our AI-amplified Databricks-based framework, maintaining it and improving it incrementally.
  • You will design data models that bring sources from anywhere in the world into a single coherent shape.
  • You will build data solutions for domains such as custom MDM, geocoding, client mastering, and profiling.
  • You will design and implement stable, automated ingestion pipelines from diverse sources.
  • You will own production troubleshooting and root cause analysis for pipeline failures, performance issues, and data quality problems.
  • You will report on data quality and deliver improvements that move the numbers.
  • You will work directly with the team lead and analytical engineers on the technical direction of the platform.
