Platform Engineer

Salary: £40,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require 4–7 years of experience in a DevOps, Platform Engineering, or similar role.
• We require proven experience in designing or contributing to an Internal Developer Platform or developer productivity tools.
• We require strong skills in Shell scripting (Bash/PowerShell) and programming (Python or Java).
• We require hands-on experience with Ansible, Kubernetes, and GitLab CI/CD.
• We require proficiency with Git version control and branching strategies.
• We require strong AI skills and experience using AI tools and workflows.
• We require knowledge of monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, and logging solutions such as ELK or Datadog.
• We require familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• We require a strong understanding of infrastructure and application security best practices.

Responsibilities:

• We lead the design, automation, and maintenance of scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure systems that support our products and services.
• We build an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) that provides self-service capabilities for provisioning environments, deploying services, and managing infrastructure.
• We design automated infrastructure using Shell scripting, Python or Java, and Ansible.
• We build and create agentic AI workflows.
• We manage Kubernetes clusters and deploy containerized applications at scale.
• We build and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment.
• We implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions with Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack or Datadog.
• We ensure infrastructure security best practices and maintain clear documentation.
• We collaborate with developers to improve onboarding, service templates, and workflows within the IDP.
• We work with development and operations teams to support rapid delivery of high-quality software while maintaining system stability, scalability, and security.
