Network Security Architect - FortiGate, Palo Alto, Zero Trust

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a network security architect in the financial services industry
• Experience working on end-to-end projects
• Strong ability to define, maintain, and lead network security architecture across data centre, WAN, and cloud environments
• Strong understanding of network security principles, including security boundaries, network segmentation, micro-segmentation, and Zero Trust architectures
• Extensive hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing Palo Alto and FortiGate firewalls, along with F5 BIG-IP load balancing solutions
• Proven expertise in deploying and maintaining proxy services and secure web gateway technologies
• Exposure to SASE and Zero-Trust network transformations with identity-driven segmentation models
• Practical experience working with Cisco ACI, including security frameworks, policy enforcement, and network automation models
• Strong track record in vulnerability management, remediation programmes, and coordinating security incidents and risk mitigation efforts across multiple teams
• Strong expertise in network routing protocols, secure network architecture, and modern security frameworks, including Zero Trust and network segmentation methodologies
• Experience leading a network security engineering function
• Immediately available
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCSP, or equivalent
• Automation experience using Python, Ansible, or infrastructure-as-code approaches for network security tasks

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the design, operation, and ongoing enhancement of enterprise network security capabilities across data centre, campus, WAN, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure environments
• Define, maintain, and lead the network security architecture across data centre, WAN, and cloud
• Support network security engineering activities across security boundaries, segmentation, micro-segmentation, and Zero Trust architecture initiatives
• Design, implement, and manage Palo Alto and FortiGate firewalls and F5 BIG-IP load balancing solutions
• Deploy and maintain proxy services and secure web gateway technologies
• Contribute to SASE and Zero-Trust network transformation efforts with identity-driven segmentation models
• Work with Cisco ACI security frameworks, policy enforcement, and network automation models
• Coordinate vulnerability management, remediation programmes, security incidents, and risk mitigation efforts across multiple teams

We are seeking a Senior Network Security Architect for a London-based hybrid role, with 2-3 days per week in the office. This is an initially 12-month contract offering up to £850 per day Inside IR35 via Umbrella. The role covers enterprise network security across data centre, campus, WAN, cloud, and hybrid environments.
