Lead Technical Architect

Salary: £65,000 - 65,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require well-developed experience delivering secure, complex infrastructure and network solutions aligned to business and security objectives.
• We require experience incorporating business continuity, disaster recovery, and resilience solutions.
• We require a degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or Information Technology.
• We require professional-level certifications.
• We require the ability to work towards a qualification such as TOGAF or ITIL.
• We require experience using the TOGAF framework to review and assure complex solutions and produce concise, high-quality high- and low-level designs.
• We require the ability to translate business and security requirements into secure, efficient, and cost-effective designs.
• We require knowledge of Azure, M365, and AWS platforms.
• We require good knowledge of NCSC, GDS, and UK Government security frameworks, including Secure by Design, Cloud Security Principles, Government Functional Standards, and the Technology Code of Practice.
• We require excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• We require the ability to coach and manage technical architects and specialists.
• A track record of deputising for senior technology leaders and engaging with stakeholders and governance forums to provide clear, evidence-based technical advice would be desirable.

• We deliver infrastructure and network architecture across a range of domains, including automation, monitoring, security, and identity management.
• We coordinate resources to support project delivery and operational teams.
• We contribute to governance, technical, and operational activities.
• We help shape and manage enterprise architecture across our organisation.
• We develop robust, secure, and cost-effective technical designs aligned with our strategic objectives and enterprise architecture.
• We provide expert guidance and technical leadership within the Architecture and Delivery teams.
• We ensure the solutions we deliver are scalable, resilient, and meet business and user needs.
• We contribute to the Technical Design Authority by reviewing infrastructure and network proposals.
• We influence the strategic direction for infrastructure and networking.
• We develop technical roadmaps aligned with technological trends and organisational objectives.
• We maintain accurate architecture documentation.
• We evaluate emerging technologies.
• We establish infrastructure and network architecture standards that drive quality.
• We manage a team of technical architects.
• We provide expert guidance to operational teams.
• We mentor less experienced colleagues.
• We contribute to design and delivery forums.
