Lead Software Engineer for Commodities UK

Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience working with front office trading desks
• High proficiency in Python
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
• Proficiency across all aspects of the software development life cycle
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
• Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems
• Practical cloud-native experience

Responsibilities:

• We develop next-generation applications for commodities trading desks across the globe
• We execute creative software solutions through design, development, and technical troubleshooting, thinking beyond routine approaches to solve complex problems
• We develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others
• We identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve the operational stability of our software applications and systems
• We lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and fit within existing systems and information architecture
• We lead communities of practice across software engineering to promote awareness and adoption of new and leading-edge technologies
