IT Systems Engineer

Salary: £30,000 - 45,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for someone who has worked in IT for several years and ideally has at least 1 year of hands-on experience, with a desire to progress further.
• Experience with Windows Server 2016/19/22/25 and Windows operating systems through to Windows 11.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 and cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google.
• Experience managing and troubleshooting backup solutions.
• Experience with Apple and Linux systems.
• Experience with WiFi networking.
• Experience with VOIP telephone systems, particularly 3CX.
• Experience with hardware installation, configuration and support.
• Experience with WAN, LAN and VLAN installation and configuration.
• Experience with TCP/IP and other protocol configuration.
• Experience with internet and security technologies.
• Experience with systems and database management.
• Proven IT support or systems administration skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills with a methodical approach.
• Ability to take initiative and solve problems independently when appropriate.
• Good all-round IT literacy.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to complete work in a timely manner.
• Ideally at least 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including Maths and English.
• A valid UK driving licence.
• Willingness to use a personal vehicle and be insured for business use.

Responsibilities:

• We provide remote, telephone and onsite technical support to our customers and attend client sites as needed.
• We install, configure and support company-supported operating systems, software and hardware.
• We install new software, including applications, VMware, Veeam and Microsoft Server platforms.
• We install new hardware such as servers, printers, workstations, laptops, switches, firewalls and network infrastructure.
• We provide general administration of customer systems.
• We oversee the security of customer systems.
• We diagnose and resolve network faults.
• We provide limited training to customers on new equipment.
• We plan future improvements for customer sites and setups.
• We maintain detailed job sheets and time records in our time management software.
• We produce and update detailed network documentation for installations.
• We comply with company procedures and health and safety regulations.
• We work under the direction of our Technical Directors.

We are AME Solutions, providing IT Support, Managed IT Services and Training to businesses throughout the UK and Europe since 2005. Due to our continued growth and organic expansion, we are looking to add a personable, responsible and skilled ICT Support Engineer to our technical team. This is a full-time, in-person role based in Exeter, Devon, with a 37.5-hour week, Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm. The role offers a salary of £35,000 to £45,000 OTE depending on experience and qualifications, plus commission, overtime and share scheme/dividends.
