IP Network Design Engineer - Cisco ACI & Route/Switch

Requirements:

• Strong experience in enterprise IP network design and engineering.
• Extensive experience with Cisco ACI and Fabric.
• Strong Cisco routing and switching experience.
• Excellent understanding of TCP/IP and networking fundamentals.
• Experience with routing protocols and enterprise network architectures.
• Experience designing highly available and resilient network solutions.
• Proven ability to produce detailed technical designs and documentation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote/hybrid international environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design enterprise IP network infrastructure across complex environments.
• Design and develop Cisco ACI solutions, including fabric architecture, tenants, VRFs, bridge domains and endpoint connectivity.
• Design and support Cisco routing and switching solutions.
• Develop network connectivity, routing and segmentation designs.
• Produce High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs).
• Define network architecture, connectivity and traffic flows.
• Work closely with network architects, security teams, infrastructure engineers and other technical stakeholders.
• Participate in technical design reviews and provide recommendations on network architecture.
• Ensure solutions meet requirements for resilience, scalability, performance and security.
• Produce and maintain accurate technical documentation.

We are seeking an experienced IP Network Engineer / Designer to support the design and delivery of enterprise-scale network infrastructure within a complex international environment. This is a contract or freelance opportunity offering a day rate of £475-£500 outside IR35, based in the UK as a home-based role. The assignment runs for 3 months as part of a 12 month project, with approximately 2 days of fully expensed travel to Europe each month.
