Salary: £60,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We require at least 5 years of experience in enterprise or domain data architecture, information architecture, data modelling and delivery.
  • We require experience defining data domains and conceptual, logical and physical models that align business concepts with technology implementation.
  • We require experience applying canonical, analytical, shared and reference-data patterns appropriately.
  • We require experience contributing to data strategies, principles, standards, target states and transition roadmaps.
  • We require a strong understanding of data ownership, stewardship, data products, contracts and federated governance in enterprise environments.
  • We require experience applying data governance, quality, metadata and lineage disciplines, with emphasis on traceability and auditability.
  • We require experience designing data architectures that meet regulatory, privacy, security, classification and retention requirements.
  • We require experience supporting data migration or system modernisation, including source-to-target mapping, reconciliation, quality controls, coexistence and cutover planning.
  • We require an understanding of how domain and logical models translate into physical cloud implementations, including schemas, pipelines, integration, lakehouse and warehouse patterns.
  • We require the ability to work across business and technology teams and explain modelling, governance and implementation trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • We require experience leading a small team or workstream and delivering agreed outcomes to time, cost and quality expectations.
  • We require strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to assess risks, resolve ambiguity and identify pragmatic solutions.
  • We require experience supporting and mentoring architects, analysts or engineers.
  • We require active SC clearance for this role.
  • Public sector or regulated industry experience, such as government, healthcare or financial services, is desirable.
  • Knowledge of modern cloud data platforms and Spark-based ecosystems, such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, Snowflake or equivalent, is desirable.
  • Experience supporting domain-oriented lakehouse, warehouse or data-product implementations is desirable.
  • Experience with master-data management, shared identifiers and reference-data governance is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of TOGAF or an equivalent enterprise architecture framework is desirable.
  • Awareness of relevant industry data, interoperability and messaging standards is desirable.
  • Familiarity with data modelling and architecture tools and repositories is desirable.
  • Familiarity with SQL and data serialisation or interface formats is desirable.
  • Data management or architecture certification, such as CDMP, DCAM or TOGAF, is desirable.
  • Cloud platform architecture certification, preferably with a data specialism, is desirable.
  • Experience using AI or Agentic techniques in the role, such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code, is desirable.
Responsibilities:
  • We will ask you to contribute to data strategies, principles, target architectures and transition roadmaps aligned to business outcomes.
  • You will define and maintain business-aligned data domains and conceptual, logical and physical models, including canonical, analytical, shared and reference-data patterns.
  • You will translate business requirements into data architecture designs, data products, contracts and interoperability guidance.
  • You will apply and improve enterprise data standards and maintain architecture models, decisions and traceability in enterprise repositories.
  • You will support data ownership, stewardship and federated governance approaches, clarifying global and domain decision rights.
  • You will embed data quality, metadata, lineage, classification, privacy, traceability and auditability into architecture and delivery.
  • You will shape shared-identifier, master-data and reference-data approaches for defined domains or workstreams.
  • You will shape data migration and modelling transition approaches, including source-to-target mapping, reconciliation, dependencies, coexistence and phased cutover.
  • You will work with platform and solution architects to translate domain and logical models into implementable cloud schemas, pipelines, lakehouse, warehouse and integration patterns.
  • You will lead small teams or workstreams, communicate trade-offs to client stakeholders and mentor architects, analysts and engineers.
