Cyber Security Engineer

Salary: £60,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require hands-on knowledge of enhancing Microsoft security tools such as Defender, Purview, and Zero Trust, including incident handling, fine-tuning, and improving feature functionality.
• We require mandatory skills in Vulnerability Management.
• We require experience working with security technical platforms and configuring them to optimise overall security.
• We require knowledge of security architecture frameworks, information security fundamentals, network security architecture, ISMRs, PCI/DSS standards, and other regulatory requirements.
• We require the ability to communicate deep technical concepts with suppliers, project managers, and programme leads.
• We require the ability to act as a technical subject matter expert for securing environments in line with compliance commitments.

Responsibilities:

• We provide security-related technical and functional support for our security tooling and services.
• We oversee the delivery of security services to a high standard.
• We maintain the health and effectiveness of controls to protect against existing and emerging threats.
• We maintain the overall security integrity of our environment.
• We improve secure continuous integration pipelines by working closely with our developers and advising on standard methodology.
• We support the delivery of projects and change programmes, ensuring alignment to our security architecture framework.
• We maintain a technical assurance approach that gives confidence to colleagues and supports the value of proposed changes.
• We take responsibility as a technical SME for securing our environments in line with compliance commitments.
• We ensure security technical platforms are configured to optimise the overall security offered to us.
• We improve SIEM coverage across our environment.
• We ensure that all changes to the production environment are reviewed and approved.
• We develop technical security standards and ensure changes align with our network security architecture, ISMRs, PCI/DSS standards, and other regulatory requirements.
