Contracts Specialist

Salary: £32,000 - 55,000 per year

Requirements:

• Knowledge of supply chain or contract management processes and procedures
• Degree-level qualification, or equivalent experience in a similar related role
• Business focus and commercial mindset
• Experience negotiating commercials and terms
• Understanding and application of key contract principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and similar IT tools
• Familiarity with SAP or another P2P system
• Flexible team player who can work effectively in a dynamic environment across different disciplines
• Delivery-driven with a high degree of self-initiative and integrity
• Confident interacting with management
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with stakeholders at all levels, internally and externally
• Able to contribute to continual improvement

Responsibilities:

• Manage contract change requests and amendments while maintaining accurate contract records and documentation
• Advise and support contract users on the principles and processes for developing and implementing contracting strategies
• Draft and manage requests for information, requests for proposal, invitations to tender, and contract documents in a clear and proactive manner
• Gather input and liaise with key stakeholders throughout the process to maximise value for our company and minimise claims and disputes
• Complete proposal evaluations and ensure assessments are carried out consistently and fairly
• Negotiate the best possible commercial position and terms with identified suppliers
• Prepare recommendations to management for the award and execution of a variety of contracts
• Support the wider business in resolving commercial and contractual issues with suppliers, including drafting, review, and negotiation of terms
• Draft and issue contract letters and notices
• Work closely with the business at all levels to achieve wider commercial objectives
• Assist the Finance Department with cost control, providing guidance on contract application and compliance
• Maintain a designated portfolio of contracts as the nominated commercial representative, supporting contract users throughout the contract lifecycle

We are a leading independent Oil & Gas operator seeking a Contracts Specialist to join our team in Norwich. This is an initial 24-month contract, working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, within our Supply Chain Management Department and reporting to the Contracts Team Leader.
