Cloud Software Engineer II

Salary: £61,000 - 101,000 per year

Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with applied experience
• Hands-on experience with one or more programming languages, such as Java, Python, or Go
• Exposure to cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and the Software Development Lifecycle
• Understanding of agile methodologies and consistent delivery in a sprint-based model
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for tasks such as coding, testing, troubleshooting, or documentation, and the ability to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security expectations
• Preferred: Experience with container and orchestration technologies such as AWS Lambda, Kubernetes (EKS), or AWS ECS

Responsibilities:

• Write, test, and deploy production-quality code with increasing autonomy
• Implement solutions across our Application Blueprint and Infrastructure Blueprint ecosystem
• Contribute to code reviews, pair programming, and shared design discussions
• Identify opportunities to improve team practices and delivery workflows
• Share knowledge with peers and newer team members while continuing to learn from senior colleagues
• Contribute to a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
• Use enterprise-authorized AI coding-assistance tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity, validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards
• Apply knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle tools, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value of automation
