Cloud Security Architect

Salary: £44,000 - 76,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong technical expertise and a passion for security
• Risk-based decision-making and adherence to regulatory and internal security standards
• Experience with threat modelling and risk management for complex cloud systems
• Broad knowledge across security domains and their capabilities within Azure and GCP, with SME experience in at least one area
• Familiarity with AWS is desirable
• Knowledge of AI/ML threats and risks, with experience applying security controls for secure deployment of AI services in cloud platforms
• Experience with application security, including CI/CD security and secure software supply chain
• Experience with data security, including key, certificate and secrets management
• Experience with identity and access management at scale
• Experience with infrastructure security, including Kubernetes (AKS/GKE/Istio), API security, and IaC security such as Terraform and ARM templates
• Experience with network security, including Zero Trust, firewalls, segmentation, and DDoS protection
• Experience with security logging and monitoring, SIEM integration, and event correlation
• CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent certifications are desirable
• Azure Security Engineer Associate or Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer certifications are desirable
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Google Professional Cloud Architect certifications are desirable

Responsibilities:

• Develop and enforce reference architectures, patterns, and blueprints for secure cloud adoption across Azure, GCP, and hybrid environments
• Conduct threat modelling and security assessments for new cloud services, defining preventative and detective controls to maintain secure posture and detect drift
• Partner with engineering and product teams to embed security guardrails early in design, ensuring compliance and resilience
• Review external architecture proposals and identify security gaps
• Document and uphold secure-by-design principles and architecture governance
• Collaborate with senior partners to articulate security risks and mitigations
• Anticipate customer needs and take proactive steps to address them
