Cloud Architect

Salary: £37,000 - 77,000 per year

Requirements:

• Proven experience delivering cloud-based programmes in the Public Sector, National Security, or Defence domains
• Experience consulting customers throughout the delivery of cloud-based solutions
• Exposure to security risk analysis and management related to technology platforms
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to assimilate large quantities of information while identifying risk and opportunity
• Deep understanding of core cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, databases, and security
• AWS experience with services such as EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, IAM, and Lambda
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, load balancing, and firewalls
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
• Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Solid understanding of cloud security principles and best practices
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Valid DV clearance is required

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain our cloud architecture strategy, including standards, guidelines, and best practices
• Design robust, secure, scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant solutions on AWS
• Lead and participate in the implementation of cloud solutions, including infrastructure setup, deployment automation, and application migration from on-premises or other cloud environments
• Implement cloud governance policies, including cost management, security controls, identity and access management, and compliance frameworks
• Ensure our cloud environments meet security best practices and regulatory requirements
• Continuously monitor and optimize our cloud infrastructure for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
• Identify opportunities for automation and improvement
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to engineering, operations, and development teams on cloud-related topics
• Act as a subject matter expert for cloud technologies within our organization
