AWS Cloud Engineer

Salary: £50,000 - 80,000 per year

Requirements:

• We need you to be skilled in a range of AWS services and keen to keep up to date with the latest releases.
• We need experience using Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
• We need experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
• We need an understanding of networking and how it translates to software-defined networking in the cloud.
• We need experience with container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes, ECS, or OpenShift.
• We need proficiency in scripting in at least one language such as Python, Bash, or Go.
• AWS certifications are desired but not essential.
• A public sector background is desired but not essential.
• You must be eligible for UK Security Vetting at SC and DV level.

Responsibilities:

• We design and build cloud-native architectures.
• We use Terraform or CDK to deploy resources.
• We create and manage infrastructure and design.
• We liaise with key internal and external stakeholders.
• We create exemplar implementation patterns for projects, including standard Puppet scripts.
• We manage and control software configuration for projects, including the source repository.
• We leverage AWS security features and ensure security best practices with developers.
• For senior engineers, we offer the opportunity to lead teams or individuals.

We are recruiting several AWS Cloud Engineers to join our leading global defence, aerospace, and security consultancy firm in Gloucester. This is a permanent role with a salary of £50,000-£80,000 per annum base, dependent on experience, plus benefits.
