Associate Software Developer

Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year

Requirements:

• Typically requires some experience in software development/programming.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Interest in technology and coding, and how it can be applied to problem solving, ideally backed up with programming experience.
• Self-starter with creativity, initiative, and self-management skills.
• Desire to broaden skills and work across multiple disciplines such as development, professional services, and analytics.
• Good interpersonal, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work within a team.
• Proof of right to work in the UK.
• Equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and debug software of diverse scope for new and existing products in accordance with designated development practices, timelines, and quality expectations.
• Work on tooling and products that turn solution designs into operational systems.
• Enhance capability and optimise data processing.
• Design and develop high-quality, testable, and scalable software solutions within established timelines while adhering to R&D best practices and processes.
• Involve project stakeholders to ensure implementation satisfies functional requirements and is consistent with established R&D standards.
• Participate in project scoping and scheduling, track progress of individual tasks, and alert stakeholders of blocking issues.
• Ensure quality through functional, unit, and performance testing.
• Work closely with testing by reviewing test plans and communicating updates needed to cover code changes.
• Maintain accountability for the entire life cycle of the code, including support for internal and external consumers.
• Collaborate with technical writers to produce design and technical documentation for internal and external consumers.
• Follow applicable security policies and processes to support secure software development goals.
• Embrace curiosity, passion, authenticity, and accountability in day-to-day work.
