Android Engineer

Salary: £70,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong technical skills and creativity, with a passion for solving tough problems and working with innovative technologies
• Obsessive focus on user experience and beautiful code
• Familiarity with modern software development methodologies popular in Android
• Ability to dive deep and rapidly iterate on ideas despite some ambiguity
• Experience building Android applications
• Experience writing and deleting code
• Experience with build tools such as Gradle, GitHub Actions, and CircleCI
• Knowledge of continuous integration patterns
• Experience finding and fixing bugs
• Experience with asynchronous coding patterns
• Experience with performance analysis and optimization
• Experience dealing with legacy code
• Experience with unit and integration tests
• Experience working with open source
• Experience working in a globally distributed team
• Self-starter with good time management skills
• Experience designing solutions for open-ended problems
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Very strong in Java and Kotlin environments
• Hands-on developer experience; coding experience is required, not lead experience

Responsibilities:

• Work on mobile applications used by cardholders around the world
• Work on a small team of designers, product owners, QA, and engineers to develop and improve features
• Share ideas and contribute to solving complex technical problems
• Rapidly iterate on ideas with the team while navigating ambiguity
• Integrate with bespoke backend services
• Work with relevant mobile technologies and tools as needed on the team
