Lead Full Stack Engineer

Salary: £44,000 - 84,000 per year

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree (2:1 or higher) in Computer Science, a technology-related field, or a business or management-related field
• Back-end development experience with Node.js (ideally) or Java
• Front-end development skills with JavaScript, React, and TypeScript
• Working knowledge of Agile and Lean software delivery methodologies and basic UI/UX design principles, including prototyping
• Ability to design and build scalable solutions, visualize proposed systems, and deliver high-quality, maintainable code
• Ability to provide technical leadership across projects, establish software development best practices, and ensure design and development quality across multiple customer engagements
• Confidence engaging with clients, discussing technical requirements, and proposing how we can add value
• Proven experience mentoring and developing engineering teams and their technical capabilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers
• Lead architecture discussions and design sessions for new features or projects
• Review code and ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for development processes and methodologies
• Promote a security-by-design approach throughout software development
• Design, develop, test, and deploy robust, scalable software solutions
• Collaborate with customer product managers or owners, designers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications, clearly explaining the pros and cons
• Bring a technology perspective to client issues and show how technology can address problems and realize opportunities
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using appropriate technologies and frameworks
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues in production environments
• Contribute to automated testing and provide feedback to management during development
• Help customers qualify and define their requirements, translating them into technical solutions using AWS-native technologies
