Data Engineer

Salary: £37,000 - 66,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience working as a Data Engineer
• Strong hands-on experience building and maintaining ETL and data pipelines
• Proficiency in data engineering tools and languages such as SQL and Python
• Experience working with cloud-based data platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure
• Familiarity with big data technologies such as Databricks
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams
• A proactive, curious mindset and drive to continuously improve data solutions

Responsibilities:

• Build and develop robust ETL pipelines, creating accessible, well-structured datasets in a Data Lake
• Ensure data pipelines are reliable, monitored, and able to report issues automatically
• Enable programmatic access to data for Data Scientists and analytics teams
• Optimize business-critical pipeline performance and define and track key metrics
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate subject matter expertise into data solutions
• Define requirements for data linkage and quality checks to enable automated preprocessing
• Support best practices by participating in design discussions and code reviews
• Communicate insights and findings clearly to a range of stakeholders
