Head of Digital Resilience and Business Continuity (BCDR)
Job Description
Salary: £60,000 - 60,000 per year
Requirements:- Proven ownership of cloud-based business continuity and disaster recovery for mission-critical or public-facing services
- Expertise designing and implementing Azure Site Recovery (ASR) solutions across multi-subscription environments
- Strong experience defining and achieving RTO and RPO targets
- Knowledge of recovery plans, runbook automation and non-disruptive failover testing
- Advanced Azure Site Recovery implementation experience (desirable)
- Azure Recovery Services and backup platform expertise (desirable)
- CISSP certification (desirable)
- Extensive ISO 27001 experience (desirable)
- Knowledge of government business continuity audit requirements (desirable)
- Experience working within central government or highly regulated environments (desirable)
- Own our agency-wide business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) strategy and roadmap
- Design and deliver Azure-to-Azure disaster recovery capabilities using Azure Site Recovery (ASR)
- Establish disaster recovery-ready networking, identity and infrastructure in secondary regions
- Lead recovery testing programmes, including tabletop exercises, failover testing and full rehearsals
- Define and assure resilience requirements for our suppliers and third parties across managed services
- Lead the strategy, delivery and assurance of disaster recovery across multiple Azure environments and suppliers

We are the Insolvency Service, partnering with Inspire People to recruit a Head of Digital Resilience and Business Continuity (BCDR). We are modernising our resilience posture and establishing an agency-wide BCDR capability to protect essential public services. This permanent Grade 7 role can be based in Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Exeter, Ipswich, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Nottingham, with flexible hybrid working and a salary of £57,367 to £63,319 (National). We offer flexi-time, a Civil Service pension with employer contributions of 28.97%, 25 days of annual leave rising to 30 days with service, public holidays plus privilege leave, five days of dedicated learning and development leave, five days of paid volunteering leave, enhanced family-friendly policies, employee wellbeing and assistance programmes, and access to employee networks and communities.
