Interim Product Owner Process Lead

Requirements:

• Experienced in Product Operations, Business Analysis, product leadership, or delivery improvement.
• Proven success establishing processes and governance across multiple product or delivery streams.
• Strong understanding of backlog refinement, discovery, and delivery readiness.
• Confident facilitating workshops, challenging ambiguity, and securing stakeholder agreement.
• Able to demonstrate measurable improvements in quality, consistency, or delivery flow.
• Available immediately or at short notice and able to attend our Wigston site three days per week.

Responsibilities:

• Map and improve our process from idea intake through to backlog-ready work.
• Establish consistent standards for triage, discovery, refinement, approvals, and Definition of Ready.
• Clarify responsibilities, handovers, and decision-making across our three Product Owners and their stakeholders.
• Embed practical templates and workflows using the main tracking tool.
• Work with our IT PMO to monitor throughput, bottlenecks, rework, and decision delays.
• Coach our team and produce a handover pack to help sustain improvements after the contract.

We are offering an interim Product Owner Process Lead contract based in Wigston, Leicestershire, with hybrid working and three days per week on site. The full-time assignment is available for an immediate start, runs for 3–6 months, pays £500–£600 per day, and is outside IR35. You will work alongside three Product Owners, the IT Director, and our IT PMO to improve how ideas become delivery-ready work across an established technology function. This is a defined improvement assignment with the opportunity to make a measurable impact and leave behind a sustainable operating model.
