Senior SRE (AWS)

Salary: £65,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or in a similar cloud, infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering role in a customer-facing environment, such as SaaS or MSP
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS and on-premise virtual machines
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform; container orchestration, such as Kubernetes; and monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Azure Monitor
• Ability to implement processes and tools and support adoption of new ways of working across development and support teams
• Ability to communicate with internal teams and external customers
• Networking skills across cloud and on-premise environments
• Windows or Linux systems administration skills; Linux preferred
• Previous use of AI tools to improve efficiency

Responsibilities:

• Use technologies such as Terraform and Kubernetes to provision and configure servers and networks and automate application lifecycles
• Use Datadog and other observability tools to monitor application performance
• Implement new ways of working and help shape how we respond to and recover from incidents
• Take ownership of incident resolution
• Improve reliability metrics, including MTTR, incident frequency, and on-call toil, by evaluating incidents
• Participate in an on-call rota and respond to incidents during scheduled periods
• Identify automation opportunities and implement changes that improve reliability

We are hiring a Senior Site Reliability Engineer for a well-established B2B SaaS company undergoing a significant platform transformation. This role will help build platform stability, support system upkeep, and introduce new tooling and processes. It offers the opportunity to take ownership of how our cloud function operates, with potential to progress into a team lead position as the team grows. The role is based in Milton Keynes, with two days on site per week. Compensation is up to £75,000, plus bonus and an on-call allowance. A referral reward of up to £1,000 may be available for a successful referral, subject to terms.
