Software Asset Analyst

Salary: £53,000 - 93,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require an associate degree or equivalent technical certification in Information Technology or a related field.
• We require at least one year of experience in IT, software asset management, procurement, or a related discipline.
• We expect an understanding of Software Asset Management principles and lifecycle processes.
• We seek experience with software inventory tools and asset management platforms; Flexera experience is highly desirable.
• We value familiarity with IT environments and information security concepts.
• We expect experience creating and maintaining technical or procedural documentation.
• We prefer experience with Flexera, software inventory and discovery tools, Oracle databases, or asset management and compliance reporting tools.

Responsibilities:

• We maintain software asset inventories and license records, including license terms, usage rules, restrictions, and product associations.
• We associate purchases, subscriptions, and renewals with licenses in our Software Asset Management (SAM) tool.
• We support the administration and maintenance of the SAM platform, including upgrades, interfaces, and troubleshooting.
• We collect and reconcile software installation data to determine compliance, manage inventory collection processes, and work with IT Operations to resolve inventory issues.
• We monitor the health of our Software Asset Management environment.
• We create reports on software compliance, liabilities, and budget information, analyze exceptions and licensing risks, and recommend remediation plans.
• We support sourcing teams and business stakeholders with software renewals and maintenance agreements, ensuring payments align with contractual commitments.
• We identify underutilized software and opportunities for license reuse or cancellation, driving savings through rationalization, license recycling, and optimized licensing practices.
• We coordinate software compliance remediation activities and communicate risks to stakeholders.
• We support continuous improvement of our Information Security Management System (ISMS), maintain documentation and process records, and help ensure software management practices comply with internal policies and external standards.
• We assist with internal and external audits and certification efforts, and contribute to software vulnerability management and intellectual property protection initiatives.
