Cyber Security SOC Analyst

Salary: £30,000 - 36,000 per year

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of proven experience in a Tier 1 Cyber Security SOC Support Analyst role
• Preference for candidates with an MSP background
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Defender XDR and Microsoft Sentinel SIEM technologies
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft Defender suite, including Endpoint Detection and Response
• Understanding of key Microsoft 365 cloud technologies from a threat landscape perspective
• SC-200 Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate
• SC-900 Microsoft Certified: Security Compliance and Identity Fundamentals
• Highly motivated

Responsibilities:

• Provide triage and first-line defence for all cyber security incidents within our organisation and as part of our Managed Security Service
• Monitor systems and make the initial response to flags or alerts received via support tickets or telephone tickets
• Review and categorise potential threats by priority, dismiss false alarms, and gather information for escalation of the most urgent threats to our Escalations Management Team
• Take ownership and provide remedial actions to ensure cyber security threats are mitigated in line with playbooks provided by our Cyber Security Team
• Escalate incidents to our Escalations Management Team for further information and support where required
• Manage technical and stakeholder incident reporting through concise communications
• Manage client communication channels during an active incident
• Liaise with third-party service suppliers where necessary, log tickets, and act as a central point of contact for active incidents
• Provide operational support to our wider Cyber Security Team on security incidents
• Deliver a professional and customer-focused service throughout the life cycle of each ticket, managing customer expectations and keeping customers informed of progress
