Java Software Engineer - Liverpool

Salary: £60,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong backend development experience using Java and Spring, including working with large or mature codebases.
• Experience deploying and managing Java applications on Apache Tomcat and/or IBM WebSphere application servers.
• Demonstrable experience with RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services.
• Strong understanding of web performance, accessibility (WCAG), and responsive design principles.
• Solid experience across the testing landscape, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing using tools such as Jest, Detox, Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, JUnit, and Mockito, with a strong commitment to test-driven development.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
• JavaScript.
• React.
• Experience working within Agile or cross-functional delivery teams.

Responsibilities:

• Work as a permanent Java Software Engineer for our organisation.
• Work on site in Liverpool one day per week.

• Support the delivery of backend development work using Java and Spring.
