Infrastructure Engineer - Aldershot

Salary: £63,000 - 103,000 per year

Requirements:

• Extensive experience with VMware virtualization technologies, including ESXi, vSphere, NSX, and VCLM
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server deployment, configuration, and management, including AD, DNS, WSUS, GPOs, and PKI
• Proficient in Linux server management, specifically RHEL
• Hands-on experience with Dell hardware, including PowerEdge Servers, PowerVault storage, QNAP NAS, and data diodes
• Networking expertise, including configuring switches, VLANs, and best practices
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible
• Experience with automation, DevSecOps practices, and scripting, including PowerShell
• Knowledge of backup and replication solutions such as Veeam, and security tools such as Trellix
• Understanding of containerization, including Docker and K8s, and hyperscale cloud environments, with AWS preferred
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously and deliver results in fast-paced environments
• Experience with Ivanti, KeyClock IDAM, and other security tools
• AWS Certification, Practitioner or higher
• Exposure to Agile and Scaled Agile methodologies
• DV Security Clearance
• Knowledge of data center best practices and hardware installation
• Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Proven track record of 3+ years in infrastructure engineering or a similar role within secure and operational environments
• Experience operating in high-availability, security-sensitive settings

Responsibilities:

• Support a major program of work by deploying, transitioning, and maintaining critical IT applications and infrastructure solutions
• Implement modern infrastructure solutions using VMware NSX, vSphere, ESXi, Terraform, Ansible, Windows Server, Linux (RHEL), and related hardware and networking components
• Deliver robust, secure, and efficient infrastructure services that support project milestones and ongoing operational excellence
• Collaborate with diverse teams and communicate effectively across technical and organizational boundaries
• Help shape best practices in a secure-by-design environment
• Contribute directly to the success of critical services by supporting outstanding service delivery and continuous improvement
