Senior Data Scientist

Salary: £60,000 - 90,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience with statistical analysis and modelling, including applying statistical methods and models to data.
• Proficiency in Python and the ability to code in Python and contribute to codebases.
• Experience querying large datasets using SQL or PySpark.
• Advanced knowledge of machine learning and AI algorithms and their applications is highly valued.
• Understanding of banking products, risk frameworks, and regulations is highly valued.
• Ability to create compelling visual representations of complex data insights is highly valued.

Responsibilities:

• Use innovative data analytics and machine learning techniques to extract valuable insights from our data reserves.
• Inform strategic decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and drive innovation across our organisation.
• Identify, collect, and extract data from various internal and external sources.
• Perform data cleaning, wrangling, and transformation to ensure data quality and suitability for analysis.
• Develop and maintain efficient data pipelines for automated data acquisition and processing.
• Design and conduct statistical and machine learning models to analyse patterns, trends, and relationships in the data.
• Develop and implement predictive models to forecast future outcomes and identify potential risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities to add value from data through Data Science.
• Advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness.
• Collaborate closely with other functions and business divisions.
• Lead a team performing complex tasks, set objectives, coach employees, and assess performance relative to objectives.
• Consult on complex issues and provide advice to support the resolution of escalated issues.
• Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies and procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
• Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to our work.
• Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple internal and external sources to solve problems creatively and effectively.
• Communicate complex information and influence stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
