Principal IT Data Systems Engineer

Salary: £43,000 - 83,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience of IT systems integration, data management and cloud computing environments
• Knowledge and application of AI technologies within complex technical solutions
• Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, toolsets and Agile delivery methodologies
• Proven track record of delivering IT and digital engineering projects to successful outcomes
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement and communication skills across multidisciplinary teams
• Sound judgement in technical decision making with a strong understanding of engineering governance and compliance standards

• Must be willing to travel to customer sites

Responsibilities:

• Provide digital engineering technical leadership and IT data systems integration expertise to enable a digital engineering project to meet its business objectives
• Work in partnership with project and programme management and act as a product owner
• Lead engineering and technical teams with a particular focus on the IT data systems solution
• Deliver high quality technical outputs in respect to IT systems, data management and the application of AI
• Lead technical delivery across Waterfall and Agile projects, assigning work to suitably qualified engineers and supporting solution development
• Ensure delivery of high-quality technical outputs to agreed time, cost and quality objectives
• Maintain consistency of engineering processes, methods and tools while ensuring compliance with governance and business standards
• Translate customer and system requirements into technical solutions, Agile features and user stories, while assuring integrated engineering outputs
• Identify and manage technical risks, provide technical leadership, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams and contractor contributions
• Drive delivery of innovative digital engineering solutions, including IT systems, data management and AI applications, while ensuring customer requirements and project goals are met without compromise to quality or compliance
