Test Automation Lead

Salary: £67,000 - 107,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong champion of quality engineering and automation principles, with the ability to independently partner with Product Owners, Product Development teams, and Scrum teams to gather requirements and define a holistic QA roadmap.
• Technical expertise in automation tools and framework development/standards, with hands-on experience in Playwright + TypeScript, Selenium, Cypress, or similar tools.
• Willingness to learn Playwright if not already experienced.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to prioritize QA tasks, remove blockers, provide regular progress updates, and maintain required documentation and artifacts.
• Experience setting up, running, and integrating automated tests within CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with keyword-driven, data-driven, hybrid, and BDD frameworks.
• Proven ability to hit the ground running, work independently, and mentor team members to achieve QA objectives.
• Experience leading automation teams and providing QA consulting.
• Ability to have VS Code, Node.js, and Playwright properly configured on the laptop and to write and execute code during interviews.

We are QualityAI and we are hiring for a QA Lead (Automation) role. The position is available in Canada, the UK, Romania, Argentina, and Portugal. The interview process includes profile screening, a possible regional CoE L1, a panel round, and a client round. Candidates are expected to have VS Code, Node.js, and Playwright configured on their laptop and be able to write and execute code during interviews. We are looking for experience with Playwright in any language, including TS/JS/Java/Python, and we are requesting that Cypress/Selenium-only profiles be ignored. The listed rate is $75/hr for Argentina and $85/hr for Canada.
