Job Description

Salary: £70,000 - 82,000 per year

Requirements:
  • A proven track record of building and managing high performance, cross-functional engineering teams in an Agile environment
  • Demonstrable experience designing, developing and maintaining distributed, event-driven, cloud-native systems
  • Expert knowledge of the latest versions of .NET Framework and .NET Core (C#)
  • Experience in API (REST, GraphQL) design and development
  • Experience in relational database design and optimization (MSSQL, MySQL, etc.)
  • Experience in deploying and managing cloud assets (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Demonstrable understanding of the full SDLC, including shaping delivery before and during development, through QA, and post-release support
  • Pragmatic and delivery-focused approach, with the ability to evaluate and challenge designs to achieve the best outcome
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and manage deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a highly organised, proactive, and independent approach to problem solving and innovative solutions
  • Ability to communicate, influence, and persuade peers using strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience building scalable and maintainable automated testing solutions for complex systems
  • Proficiency in WPF application development
  • Experience with financial/trading platforms and knowledge of financial markets
  • Knowledge of FIX protocol and ability to handle FIX interactions
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS services
  • Experience with Java, JavaScript, or React
  • Experience with serverless architecture and microservices
  • Experience with TDD, BDD, or similar approaches
Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a cross-functional team of engineers working on Front Office solutions for our Rates & FX business lines
  • Work closely with principal engineers in other regions to set and implement standards for engineering excellence
  • Work closely with Solution Architects and Enterprise Architecture to build solutions aligned to our IT strategy and vision
  • Take ownership of, and be accountable for, the delivery and quality of engineering and solutions
  • Ensure solutions meet business requirements, adhere to best practices, and are delivered on time and within scope
  • Continuously improve delivery by experimenting with technologies and methodologies
  • Communicate effectively on progress and raise impediments early to minimise impact on delivery
