Job Description

Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Experience in Software Engineering, DevOps, or related fields.
  • Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Solid understanding of agile practices, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
  • Proficient in at least one programming language, such as Python, Java/Spring Boot, or .NET.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems.
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, or Splunk.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab and container orchestration such as Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals and troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and work independently or in teams.
  • Proactive in identifying and overcoming obstacles, with a passion for learning and innovation.
  • Preferred: Experience with large-scale distributed systems.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of networking and security best practices.
  • Preferred: Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement robust software solutions to optimize system reliability and performance.
  • Develop and maintain automation tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations to reduce manual intervention.
  • Monitor system performance, proactively address potential issues, and troubleshoot complex production incidents.
  • Implement infrastructure, configuration, and network as code for applications and platforms.
  • Understand service level indicators and use service level objectives to proactively resolve issues before they impact customers.
  • Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to enhance system reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Document processes, share knowledge, and contribute to communities of practice and emerging technologies.
  • Foster a team culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect.
