Transaction Monitoring Data Analyst

Salary: £130,000 - 135,200 per year

Requirements:

• 4-8 years of relevant work experience as a business or data analyst
• Knowledge and demonstrated experience writing SQL
• Knowledge of financial instruments, particularly bonds and derivatives, and relevant data attributes is highly desirable
• Consistently clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
• Effective organizational influencing skills
• Experience working as part of a team based in different regions
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to see the big picture while retaining attention to critical details
• Bachelors or Masters university degree, or equivalent experience

Responsibilities:

• Support multiple risk and control projects, including gathering data requirements, locating required data sets, and writing queries to extract the data
• Document the data sets and filtering used, along with the associated rationale
• Act as a subject matter expert to senior stakeholders and/or other team members for the data sets consumed by Transaction Monitoring controls
• Exercise independence of judgment and autonomy
• Work closely with business partners on findings and make recommendations to improve practices
• Leverage data to examine impact to end users and determine root cause for data-related issues
• Operate with a limited level of direct supervision
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firms reputation and safeguarding the bank, its clients, and assets
• Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations
• Adhere to policy, apply sound ethical judgment, and escalate, manage, and report control issues with transparency
