Cyber Security Engineer

Salary: £70,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience in cyber security, infrastructure, or systems engineering.
• Background in roles such as Security Engineer, Systems Engineer, Network Engineer, or SOC Analyst with strong technical depth.
• Strong understanding of networking, including TCP/IP, firewalls, and segmentation.
• Strong understanding of operating systems, including Windows and Linux.
• Strong understanding of identity and access management concepts.
• Strong understanding of cloud fundamentals.
• Exposure to security tooling such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR.
• Strong understanding of core security principles such as defence in depth, least privilege, and zero trust concepts.
• Understanding of designing and implementing secure systems to HMG security requirements.
• Experience managing complex technology estates with differing risk profiles.
• Information security-related certifications such as Security, CISSP, CISM, GSEC, or SSCP are desirable.

Responsibilities:

• Join us as a Cyber Security Engineer and develop the skills, experience, and exposure needed to move into Cyber Security Architecture over time.
• Work closely with experienced security architects and engineers.
• Build a clear pathway into security architecture through hands-on growth in the role.
• Support and enable the wider business in the delivery of its core services.
• Contribute to collaboration, operational activities, and business delivery within our Digital Technologies department.
