Staff Platform Engineer

Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year

Responsibilities:

• We will expect you to establish a coherent 12–18 month technical direction for the platform, including trade-offs, milestones, and alignment across engineering leadership.
• You will define the architectural patterns and standards that enable autonomous and AI-augmented workflows across the organisation.
• You will help ensure platform capabilities are adopted broadly because they are well-designed, well-documented, and reduce friction.
• You will embed platform-defined standards for security, reliability, and operational excellence into how all teams build.
• You will help reduce misconfiguration, security exceptions, and operational incidents across the estate.
• You will raise the capability of senior engineers through collaboration, technical challenge, and deliberate exposure to harder problems.
• You will act as a technical authority and help shape engineering culture across the organisation.
• You will ensure the platform strategy is aligned to long-term business outcomes.
• You will create the conditions for engineering teams to move faster, more safely, and more autonomously.
