Automated Test Engineer

Salary: £39,000 - 79,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience in automated software testing, with a proven ability to design, write, and run automation frameworks and suites.
• Experience with test automation tools such as Playwright or Cypress.
• A strong understanding of manual testing methodologies, including functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
• The ability to analyse technical and business requirements and translate them into effective, structured test scenarios.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

• Work effectively and collaborate with team members, including stakeholders and technical colleagues.
• Extend existing test scripts to improve coverage based on agile functional demands for the relevant project.
• Provide detailed reports for QA outputs.
• Work to a schedule and complete tasks on time as defined.
• Create new test scripts aligned with the best practice set out by the team.
• Learn and improve on the job by picking up new skills and capabilities as the work progresses.
• Engage with and coordinate stakeholders, establishing shift-left automated testing from start to finish.
• Work with technical team members to ensure full understanding and alignment on technical requirements.
• Collaborate with project team members to deliver a successful implementation of automated testing scripts.
• Create and enhance Playwright testing scripts covering the key functional elements of the project, working through them in priority order.
• Provide excellent communication with technical leads and the programme delivery manager to keep everyone up to date.
• Provide reports and details for failures and gaps in implementation based on testing findings.
• Design and incorporate QA testing within the CI/CD process.
